Statistician, GlaxoSmithKline, Dartford
Minimum Requirements: Experienced or graduate statistician with 3 - 5 years
relevant experience and the capability of leading part of the service,
identifying and establishing business benefits of statistical applications.
Good communication skills and the ability to work within teams of
statisticians, scientists and engineers is a must. Experience in validation
of systems and training non-statisticians would be an advantage.

The Dartford Primary GMS site was officially opened on July 3rd 1889.as the
Wellcome Foundation, and has played an integral part of our business ever
since.
Dartford is now part of the Primary Supply organisation within GSK's Global
Manufacturing & Supply Division. The site is a centre of excellence for
active ingredients.
The Role
We are seeking to strengthen our statistics team at Dartford by recruiting
statisticians who can apply their knowledge to help us achieve our business
goals. They will contribute to providing a comprehensive service to
manufacturing process development, new product introduction, quality
control, business improvement and other functions. The Dartford team is
part of a statistics team on sites across the world and contributes to
development of best practice, to training of non-statisticians and to
developing our SixSigma processes across manufacturing.
Applications are sought from experienced and recent graduate statisticians
who have expertise in some of the following:
- Statistical process control and process improvement.
- Design and analysis of experiments.
- Data analysis and statistical modelling.
- Developing and implementing statistical software solutions.
- Using statistical packages including SAS, SAS/JMP, Minitab and Design
Expert5.
- Experience in working in manufacturing, in validation of systems or of
training non-statisticians will be an advantage, but are not essential.
At Dartford they will have opportunities to develop the statistical service
and their own technical competence, and to work within teams of
statisticians, scientists and engineers.
Senior statisticians will also be expected to lead projects, identify and
establish the business benefits of statistical applications, work with
managers at all levels and providing leadership for statisticians, and
typically will have 3-5 years relevant experience. Career development is
strongly supported within Statistics and movement into other areas of the
business encouraged. The successful candidate will be expected to travel
within the UK and overseas.

with the multicinema and extensive shopping in addition to easy direct
trains to London and airports.
