Research Officer (II)
Starting salary in range £25,451-£30,660 plus £2,134 London Weighting
Appointment October 2003 - September 2006 (job share considered)
You will join a team developing multilevel modelling methodology. The
Centre's aims include the development of statistical models for the analysis
of hierarchically structured data, training in the use of such models, and
the provision of appropriate software. The Centre produces the MLwiN
software package for multilevel modelling. You will collaborate with social
scientists on the application of new methodology to substantive problems and
contribute to software user documentation and user support.
You will need:
· a postgraduate qualification in statistics or equivalent research
experience;
· at least three years' relevant experience;
· a good understanding of structural equation modelling and experience
in Bayesian statistics and MCMC theory;
· experience of applied statistical modelling; and
· a good publications record and experience of presenting results both
publicly and in writing.
