RESEARCH ASSOCIATE IN BIOSTATISTICS AND BIOINFORMATICS (RA1A)
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious post-doc with a PhD in
mathematics, statistics, physics or bioinformatics who is looking to develop
their career as a biostatistician in the field of genomics. The post is
linked to a Welcome Trust project, coordinated by Professor James Scott FRS
and involving an inter-disciplinary team working to develop the
understanding of metabolic diseases and in particular the syndrome of
insulin resistance.
You will work directly with Professor Sylvia Richardson, Head of
Biostatistics Group in the Department of Epidemiology for developing and
applying multivariate statistical tools to gene expression data. The post is
funded by a Welcome Trust Thematic grant for Cardiovascular Functional
Genomics. The appointment will be for 2 years in the first instance, with a
possibility of a third year.
The appointment will be on the RA1A scale with a minimum of £21,125 per
annum plus London Allowance of £2,134 per annum.
