Details:
GlaxoSmithKline is one of the world's leading healthcare organisations with
a portfolio of products containing some of the most widely used and
innovative medicines on the market. Within Global Manufacturing and Supply,
Primary Supply manufactures the active ingredients for GSK products.
Statisticians have influential roles across GSK and we are seeking to
strengthen our Primary Supply Statistics team by recruiting a consultant
statistician or a senior statistician who will help to build our statistics
service across the world within the GSK SixSigma culture.
The person selected will have sound and wide theoretical knowledge and the
ability to apply that knowledge to help achieve our business goals. Within
the Statistics Expert Network, they will be involved in and lead projects
on sites and for central functions for manufacturing process development,
new product introduction, quality control and business improvement
including SixSigma projects.
Typically though not necessarily, candidates will be experienced graduate
statisticians, with expertise in some of the following:
* Statistical process control and process improvement.
* Design and analysis of experiments.
* Data analysis and statistical modelling.
* Developing and implementing statistical best practice and software solutions.
* Developing and delivering training for non-statisticians.
* Coaching and mentoring less experienced statisticians.
They will be able to lead and develop the statistical service across
Primary Supply, to identify and deliver business benefits from statistical
applications, have good communication skills and be able to work with
senior management and within teams of statisticians, scientists and
engineers. Experience in working in manufacturing or in systems validation
will be an advantage, but are not essential.
This role will probably be based at the Ulverston site in the Southern Lake
District and will involve some travel worldwide. Ulverston is a market town
with easy access to the Cumbrian lakes and mountains, to Lancashire and
West Yorkshire, and good communications by air via Manchester and rail.
The rewards, incentives and benefits are everything you would expect of a
world leader, as is the potential for rapid career progression.
