[Second Announcement, Deadline for registration: 5th May]
[Sorry for cross-postings]
The young researchers of the Institute of Statistics, Université catholique
de Louvain, Belgium, are pleased to announce a workshop on
"Nonparametric Approaches in Survival Analysis"
to be held in Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium), on MAY 19, 2003 (9h00-12h45).
=========
Program
=========
One central problem in survival analysis consists in making inference on
the distribution function of random variables observed under censoring. The
workshop will address this problem in a nonparametric way. We will start
the day by a comprehensive overview of standard estimators and testing
procedures. However, in many practical cases, these basic models are not
satisfactory. Special problematic situations will be considered during the
day. We will first discuss the problem where the survival time may depend
on the censoring time. Another discussion will be about the problem of the
analysis of covariance for censored data. In all these recent approaches,
new nonparametric estimators and their properties will be studied.

Speakers of the day

Michael G. Akritas (Penn State University, USA),
Roel Braekers (Limburgs Universitair Centrum, Belgium),
Cédric Heuchenne (Université catholique de Louvain, Belgium),
Juan Carlos Pardo-Fernandez (Universidade de Vigo, Spain).
