*Senior Research Fellow - Epidemiology & Biostatistics

We are looking for a Senior Research Fellow for a leading Sydney Based
Institute. In this role you will manage the operations of a major
collaboration, the aim of which is to provide direct, reliable evidence
about several determinants of stroke, coronary heart disease and other
common causes of death in the Asian Pacific region.
You will have primary responsibility for activities relating to the
initiation, conduct and analysis of the study, including responsibility for
conducting statistical analyses of the project data, preparing reports to
sponsoring bodies, writing medical/epidemiological research papers,
presenting at international conferences, and assisting with grant
applications.
More broadly, you will have the opportunity to contribute to teaching
activities within the Institute and at the University, including the
supervision of postgraduate students. The preferred applicant may be
considered for the award of a conjoint academic title in the Faculty of
Medicine of the University commensurate with your qualifications and
experience.
To be successful in this role you will have postgraduate qualifications and
a strong background in epidemiology, biostatistics and statistical
computing.
You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and will
have experience in writing research papers and grant applications.
An appreciation of the specific epidemiological issues affecting adults in
middle-income countries in the Asia Pacific region would be an advantage.
