The Division of Genomic Medicine at the University of Sheffield has an MRC PhD
studentship available to start in October 2003. There are a number of possible
projects available and the studentship will be awarded competitively.
We have a number of mathematical genetics/bioinformatics projects in the
Mathematical Modelling and Genetic Epidemiology group. These would be suitable
for good mathematical students with an interest in biology/genetics. No
background knowledge of genetics is required.

This studentship is open to UK and other EU candidates, though in the latter
