Two Research Fellows in Social Statistics, Department of Social Statistics,
University of Southampton
Applications are invited for two Research Fellow positions on ESRC-funded
projects within the Department of Social Statistics at the University of
Southampton. One position is for three years and is under the supervision
of Professor Ray Chambers. It is concerned with the development of
multiquantile models for small area estimation using sample survey data. It
will involve research collaboration with methodologists in the UK Office
for National Statistics.
The other position is for two years and is under the supervision of Dr
Peter Smith. It is concerned with modelling attitude stability and change
using repeated measures data, and will involve close collaboration with Dr
Ann Berrington (Social Statistics) and Dr Patrick Sturgis (University of
Surrey).
Starting salaries for both posts will be on the RA1A scale, £20,311 to
£22,191 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. The
positions are available immediately, and the Department would ideally like
to have the successful applicants commence work by 1 April 2003.
