Hi
I have just noticed a book that was recently published (2003) by
Shein-Chung Chow, Jun Shao, Hamsheng Wang called Sample Size Calculation
in Clinical Research. Has anyone in the pharmaceutical
industry bought this book and found it useful? Is it practical and relate
to the everyday problems faced by pharmaceutical statisticians needing to
provide sample size calculations? Does it give examples of how these
calculations can be put into words for entry to a protocol? Does it look
at
alterative ways to calculate sample sizes such as re-sampling? What is
the level of readability and what is the intented audience? Does anyone
use it on a Masters degree in Statistics anywhere?
I'd love to get a couple of pages if possible to review its content prior
to potential purchase as this will be a private purchase.
Thanks for your help.
