Statistician/Epidemiologist Research Fellow in Health Services Research (RAII) 3-year fixed-term contract
An enthusiastic statistician or epidemiologist is required to work in a Research Fellow post (RAII) in a small, friendly, expanding Public Health & Policy Research Unit. The applicant should have an interest in health care and improving health services and strong quantitative skills with training in epidemiology or statistics preferably to doctoral level. He/she should be confident working with large datasets to undertake multivariable analyses. An interest in modelling, dealing with hierarchical data or GIS would also be an advantage.
The work will be based in the field of Health Services Research, investigating both routine and other data sources and analysing the results of studies. Current and planned projects within the Unit include the REFER study of elective surgical referral to hospital; the GEMINIHI project for geographical twinning across Europe on the basis of Health Status Indicators; a survey of Information Needs of people with mild mental health problems and Derivation of Quality Indicators for general practice.
