Research Fellow in Health Services Research
We are seeking an enthusiastic researcher to join the Health Services Research Unit to work on a national cohort study to assess the effectiveness, cost-effectiveness and cost impact of introducing a new treatment for some types of macular degeneration into the National Health Service. This post provides an excellent opportunity for the successful applicant to be involved in a high profile research study. The post is for three years.
The post will involve day-to-day coordination of the study, liaising with participating centres to ensure high quality data acquisition, travel to centres to collect data not acquired routinely during treatment and follow-up of participants, carrying preliminary analyses and drafting of reports both for the national steering group and individual centres.
Applicants must have a MSc (or equivalent) in a quantitative health care science (epidemiology, medical statistics, economics, psychology) and experience of health care research. Additionally, they should have excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently, have experience of primary data collection and be familiar with spreadsheets.
The post will be full-time for three years. The salary will be o the Research Fellow scale, £20,982 - £26,831 per annum inclusive, depending on qualifications and experience.
