Dear Colleagues
I would like to ask you for a favour. Both my wife and myself are planning to start a PhD in the UK on a visiting basis. However, this is a costly venture and some extra income would come in handy for this purpose. Unfortunately, being located in Malta, I cannot apply for any of the numerous offers for part-time work advertised on this list. Therefore, I would like to ask whether anyone would have any medical statistical work which can be done from home and then sent back by email. If occasional travel abroad may be necessary, particularly to the UK, it should not be a problem for me to come over.
I am a medical statistician working in Malta, the only one actually. I currently work for the government in the Department of Health Information and most of my work involves the provision of statistical consultancy services to the medical registries and to all health care professionals who are interested in carrying out research projects for various purposes - audit, postgraduate study etc. I also provide consultancy services to academic staff at the Medical School of the University of Malta together with teaching of Medical Statistics credits at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. Moreover, I am involved with analysis of the First National Health Interview Survey data.
My first degree is a medical degree from the University of Malta and then I studied for an MSc in Medical Statistics at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. In a few months' time, I should finish a part-time MSc in Public Health from the University of Malta.
I would gladly forward a copy of my detailed curriculum vitae to any interested parties.
In the meantime, may I thank you for your time and patience
Yours truly
Dr Neville Calleja
