Hi all,
I'm at a loss to answer the following question:
If iodine deficiency in a population is defined as no more than 3% having a TSH level above 5mU/l, what proportion of the population do I need to sample randomly to be confident that I can pick up whether my popn is iodine deficient? (usual power=0.8, alpha=0.05). I'm unsure what the distributon of TSH looks like usually.
Can someone point me in the right direction for thinking about this?
Thanks
Andrew
