We have two positions as statistician/data analyst, each for 2-5 years (the
exact length of the posts is to be determined). Salary range is on the
Research Staff scales, currently £21,125 - £36,712 plus £2,134 p.a. London
allowance, subject to qualifications and experience.
The Institute for the Study of Children, Families, and Social Issues
(http://www.iscfsi.bbk.ac.uk) was established in 2000 to conduct
multidisciplinary basic and applied research on child and family
development and related topics in and outside of the UK and has more than
70 people working on its many enterprises. The largest Institute project
currently underway is the 8-year, £20 million National Evaluation of Sure
Start (NESS; http://www.ness.bbk.ac.uk), funded by the Department for
Education and Employment (England).
The responsibilities of the post-holder will include:
Analysis of complex cross-sectional and longitudinal survey data, collected
on individuals clustered within communities, with many outcomes of interest
Collaborating in the writing up of results for publication in reports for
audiences of varying levels of expertise, and for publication in academic
journals or presentation at scientific meetings.
Collaborating with other members of the data analysis team and with the
rest of the research team.
