Be up-to-date on the many changes are taking place in health
intelligence
The day will give people involved in producing and using health
information the opportunity to get up-to-date with recent developments
and discuss what is needed for the future.
¨ You will hear updates from key organisations at national and
local levels, such as the NHS, Department of Health, the NHS
Information Authority, the Office of National Statistics, Strategic
Health Authorities and Primary Care Trusts.
¨ There will be group sessions to allow you to discuss hot topics
with these organisations and implications of the discussions will be
explored
¨ Topics are being finalised but are likely to include :
Information issues for new NHS organisations (PCTs,SHAs),Health/
Social Care partnerships, workforce/career pathways, Public Health
Observatories, Developments at the Office for National
Statistics,access to data, measuring NHS activity
A full programme and list of speakers will be available shortly. There
will be no charge for this conference.

This workshop is being held the day after the Statistics Users' Council
Conference on Measuring Government Performance to be held on the 13th
November at the Royal Society, London. The aim of the SUC Conference is to
review the statistics available for monitoring government performance,
considering in particular Education, Health, Transport and Criminal
Justice. The papers will consider the practical problems involved in
achieving valid measures and where the responsibility lies for the various
stage of the process -deciding what to monitor -setting targets -devising
performance measures/indicators. Further information on this will be
available soon.
