Five PhD Scholarships in Social Statistics, including Demography, at the Department of Social Statistics, University of Southampton from October 2003.
These scholarships will pay full fees and maintenance. In addition, income can often be supplemented by part-time teaching or research assistance in the Department. Maintenance and allowances will be payable at the UK Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) stipend levels.
Two scholarships, of up to three years duration, will be awarded competitively to outstanding candidates from anywhere in the world. Applications from overseas students are welcomed.
One scholarship, of up to four years duration, will be awarded competitively to outstanding candidates from anywhere in the European Union. Applications from EU students are welcomed.
Two scholarships, of up to four years duration, will be awarded competitively to outstanding UK candidates.
In addition, a number of scholarships will be offered in The Faculty of Social Sciences Scholarship Competition 2003 within any of the Faculty's Departments/Schools, including Social Statistics.
