CHILDHOOD GROWTH TRAJECTORIES AND EARLY BREAST CANCER
Bianca L De Stavola
London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine
Abstract
It has been suggested that growth in childhood may be critical in
determining breast cancer risk but little direct evidence
is available because of the paucity of relevant prospective data. Even
when data are available, several issues - such as
those arising from missing data and correlated covariates - need to be
addressed.
Data from the Medical Research Council National Survey of Health and
Development (NSHD) will be used to illustrate
some of these issues and to present possible solutions. Multilevel and
structural equation models as well as multiple
imputations methods will be used.
