Applications are invited for the post of Chair in Social Statistics to commence from 1st September 2004.
The Department of Statistics is one of the largest and most distinguished in the country. It has 13 full-time academic staff with research interests that fall into three main areas: actuarial science and probabilistic methods in finance; social statistics, especially multivariate methods including latent variable models and multilevel modelling, and the activities associated with our Centre for the Analysis of Time Series. The Department has strong national and international research partnerships.
The appointment is seen as a major investment by the School in strengthening its international position in research and teaching in methodology in the social sciences and the appointee will be expected to work closely with sister departments in this aim.
The School is seeking to appoint a distinguished scholar, and the post will be remunerated accordingly.
