Examining over 100,000 cases each year, we are the market leader in the
supply of forensic science services to police forces in England and Wales,
as well as being a source of training, consultancy, and scientific support
for many overseas and private sector customers, including law enforcement
agencies in 60 countries worldwide.
For someone with a strong background in statistical or probabilistic
modelling, this is an opportunity to take the lead in developing robust
interpretative methods for a key two-year project focusing on the
statistical analysis of partial fingerprints.
To join a talented team of scientists, fingerprint experts and fellow
statisticians at our innovative Research and Development Unit, you will
need the ability to work to a highly structured schedule in order to meet
demanding deadlines.
Whether from industry or academia, you must also be a confident and
accomplished communicator with a full degree in Statistics, Mathematics or
Computer Science. For this challenging and rewarding role, experience of
image analysis, spatial statistics or pattern recognition would be a real
advantage, as would a relevant PhD and familiarity with MatLab
development software.
