Exciting Opportunities for Graduate Statisticians
Influence Development of New Medicines
You'd expect a global pharmaceutical company like GlaxoSmithKline to
develop products that define the cutting-edge of today's healthcare
practice. So it's no surprise that for our statisticians, the prospects
are equally promising. Our Biomedical Data Sciences division is the
largest within the pharmaceutical industry, and includes statistics groups
covering non-clinical areas, clinical drug development in a wide range of
therapeutic areas and a methodological research team. Exciting
opportunities have now arisen in the UK Clinical Pharmacology and Clinical
areas for new and recently qualified Statisticians. Working closely with
clinical colleagues, you will apply your statistical knowledge in the
design and analysis of studies to demonstrate the effectiveness, safety
and quality of new medicines. You will prepare and conduct analyses and
reports for internal and regulatory purposes, as well as contributing to
external presentations and papers for publication. As part of a team of
more experienced statisticians, you'll rapidly develop your statistical
knowledge and expertise. There will also be opportunities to work within
the broader therapeutic teams, which focus on drug development strategy,
alongside data managers, clinical scientists, marketing professionals and
epidemiologists.
You should currently be completing a statistics MSc or PhD degree and have
the ability to apply your statistical knowledge and logical thinking to
practical situations. Good communication and interpersonal skills are
vital, as is your ability to work well in a team and to influence others.
We offer competitive salaries, benefits, training and development, and are
committed to the continuous development of your technical skills and
competencies. Opportunities are available at our sites in Greenford and
Harlow.
