Dear all,
I have collected papers on studies on anaemia in pregnant women in malarious
and non-malarious countries. The cut-offs used were either <7g/dl or <11g/dl
to denote anaemia. Each paper has an Odds Ratio of a pregnant mother being
anaemic if they had malaria or not.
Using the odd ratios, I have done a sensitivity analysis. My graph has
sensitivity on the Y axis and Odds Ratio on the X axis. I have two lines in
the graph, one sensitivity if 11g/dl and 7g/dl were used as cutt-offs for
anaemia respectively.
My question is :(1) Is this a legitimate analysis
If yes then (1) How do I interprate the sensitivity values (2) how do I
interprate the positive predictive values which I also calculated?.
Please Help
Catherine Smith.
