CALL FOR PAPERS
SPECIAL ISSUE of Statistical Modelling: An International Journal (SMIJ):
"Statistical modelling in European business and industry"
Statistical Modelling: An International Journal will publish a special
volume dedicated to advances in statistical modelling in European business
and industry. Guest editors are Arnoldo Frigessi (Norwegian Computing
Centre, Oslo, Norway) and Jan Engel (Centre for Quantitative Methods,
Eindhoven, The Netherlands)
Statistical Modelling: An International Journal publishes original and
high-quality articles that recognize statistical modelling as the general
framework for the application of statistical ideas. Submissions must reflect
important developments, extensions, and applications in statistical
modelling. The journal encourages submissions that describe scientifically
interesting, complex or novel statistical modelling aspects from a wide
diversity of disciplines.
The special issue on Statistical modelling in European business and industry
is promoted by the Working Group on General Statistical Modelling
(www.nr.no/enbis <http://www.nr.no/enbis/>) of the European Network for
Business and Industrial Statistics (ENBIS) to promote the use of advanced
statistical modelling techniques in European business and industry. We look
for contributions that focus on interesting industrial and business problems
and propose innovative solutions based on statistical models. Submission is
open to everybody. Members of the ENBIS Working Group are in particular
invited to submit their papers, including papers to be presented at the
Third Annual ENBIS Conference (August, 21-22, 2003, Barcelona, Spain).
Authors should submit their manuscripts electronically to one of the Guest
Editors:
Arnoldo Frigessi ([log in to unmask] <mailto:[log in to unmask]>)
and Jan Engel ([log in to unmask] <mailto:[log in to unmask]>). All usual formats will
be accepted, but final versions for publication will need to follow the
rules of the journal, see Instructions for Authors available at the SMIJ
website http://stat.uibk.ac.at/SMIJ/.
The refereeing process of the journal is adopted and a decision on a
manuscript will be taken within 4 months of its submission. In order to
coordinate the issue, the guest editors would prefer to be informed of the
intention to submit a paper and about its content. For this purpose, please
e-mail a short abstract in advance.
