In case of heteroscedascidy a variance-weighted linear regression is
appropriate. With respect to lack-of-fit testing the consequence of this is
that there is not a single pure error over the x range, but different sets
of pure errors depending on the x value. A guess an adapted lack-of-fit
test is required in this case. How should this be done? Are you aware of
references on this topic?
