At Sussex, we have a specific exam board for Visiting and Exchange Students which meets early in the
Spring Term to confirm marks for those that leave at Christmas. It is a relatively small Board with
a composition of people intimately involved in looking after V&E students. This separates these
students out from the main process - helpful in that their course choices and issues are often
idiosyncratic - and allows us to respond to international timetables as much as possible.

> Dear All,
>
> Currently at Liverpool Hope, our January assessment results are considered provisional until they
> are ratified by the Final Board of Examiners in June. An issue has arisen, however, with
> International Exchange students. Some of these students study for one semester (September -
> January), and then return to their home Institution to finish their studies. Many are final year
> students and usually graduate in May, before their provisional 'Hope' results have been ratified.

>
> I would be interested to hear how other Institutions handle this - do you hold a Final Board of
> Examiners in the January to ratify results, or do you take Chair's Action?
>
> Best wishes,
