PLYMOUTH COLLEGE OF ART & DESIGN
Plymouth College of Art and Design is one of four remaining specialist
colleges of art and design in the further and higher education sector in the
UK. The College is seeking to appoint dynamic and innovative individuals who
can contribute to the College's quality improvement plan.
The posts and roles outlined below presents the final substantial phase in
the restructuring and repositioning of PCAD. The purpose of which is to
further strengthen the specialist learning environment and College mission
to enable and develop our students to achieve outstanding success.
Post 1 - FT Course Leader Foundation Degree (FdA) - Animation & Creative
Media
Salary £22,443-£26,031
You will have a thorough understanding of the curriculum area or a closely
related discipline, with subject-specific knowledge of Animation, Creative
Media and Moving Image Production. Applicants should ideally have
production experience within the media and creative industries and teaching
experience up to degree level. You will be involved in further and higher
education provision and have specific responsibility for course leadership.
Post 2 - FT Lecturer - Contemporary Graphic Design
Salary £17,947-26,031
You will have a broad understanding of the design practice, demonstrating a
thorough knowledge of a range of traditional and contemporary graphic design
applications. Ability to plan and co-ordinate projects from concept to
print/web is essential with the experience of managing groups and directing
student projects from FE to Degree level.
Post 3 - Lecturer - Photography/Photographic Culture
Salary £17,947-£26,031 pro-rata (.5 proportional post)
You will be educated to degree level or above and demonstrate a thorough
knowledge of current photographic practice and cultural theory with
appropriate professional experience. A sound working knowledge of a range
of contemporary materials and techniques. Teaching experience from FE to HE
would be essential.
Post 4 - FT Course Leader - National Diploma (ND) Multimedia
Salary £22,443-£26,031
You will have a thorough understanding of the curriculum area with
subject-specific knowledge of E-Commerce, Web Design, Audio Production and
Video Editing/Post Production and experience teaching at both FE and HE
level. An understanding of traditional and contemporary digital animation
would be desirable. You will be involved in further and higher education
provision.
Post 5 - Head of Learning, Teaching and Academic Support
Lecturer Scale £26,930-£32,317
This post combines an important focus and development need for the College.
It brings together the responsibility for academic administrative support
and in particular the integrity of the College's documentation in relation
to course approval/validation, qualification outcomes and learning and
teaching developments. Essentially, you will lead on raising of standards
through the initiation of innovation in learning, teaching and assessment
developments. Experience of teaching at a range of levels and to practising
teachers/lecturers and will be expected to develop continuous improvement
initiatives.
Post 6 - Course Leader: Foundation Art and Design
Lecturer Scale £22,443-£26,031
You will be an experienced and exemplary teacher in one or more art and
design specialisms with knowledge of traditional, contemporary and Fine Art
practices. The successful candidate will have the organisational skills to
effectively communicate with the staff team and student groups, ensuring a
progressive learning programme.
Post 7 - Course Leader: National Diploma Fine Art
Lecturer Scale £22,443-£26,031
You will be an experienced and exemplary teacher in one or more art and
design specialisms with knowledge of traditional, contemporary and Fine Art
practices. The successful candidate will have the organisational skills to
effectively communicate with the staff team and student groups, ensuring a
progressive learning programme.
Post 8 - Course Co-ordination and Leadership of a range of entry to art and
design provision: GNVQ Foundation and Intermediate and associated provision
(in partnership with local schools and in PCAD provision).
Lecturer Scale £22,443-£26,031
The College is seeking to further develop and strengthen its level 1 and 2
provision in art and design. The successful candidate will be required to
demonstrate a commitment to maximising personal student achievement through
the organisation of a stimulating and responsive programme of learning
experiences. The ability to respond to students from a diversity of
backgrounds on a continuous basis is essential. You will have relevant
teaching experience and be professionally qualified. Good organisational and
communication skills are a necessity.
