> Background
> This one day event will be of interest to departmental staff in art and
> design, history of art and design, media, film and cultural studies. In

> context of widening participation and inclusion, the workshop will focus

> key issues and practical solutions for preparing students to work in the
> creative industries sector. Each workshop will include case studies
> illustrating good practice and will enable participants to examine the
> extent to which employability and inclusion can be addressed through
> learning, teaching and assessment. There will also be a regional focus to
> each session. The workshops will be facilitated by staff from ADC-LTSN.

> The workshops will include presentations and case studies, small group
> discussions and opportunities for questions. This process will enable
> participants to improve their understanding of the importance of
> employability and inclusion through the discussion of examples of good
> learning and teaching practice in a regional context.
> Materials and case studies highlighted will enhance the application of

> for the improvement of approaches to learning and teaching which integrate

> At the end of the workshop participants will be able to:
> * identify the key issues for an integrated curriculum that addresses

> * explore the consequences of the new Special Educational Needs and
> Disability Act 2001
> * identify common concerns relating to learning, teaching and
> assessment
> * learn about models of good practice in employability and inclusion
> * work on designing solutions and learning activities to address the
> key issues identified.
