TASI continues its popular workshop programme, offering the following
courses during November.
IMAGE CAPTURE - Beginners - Thursday 20th November
IMAGE CAPTURE - Intermediate - Friday 21st November
The first two workshops in our digital imaging series, which can be taken
separately or together. The Beginners course provides an introduction and
overview of digital imaging and practical exercises using a scanner and
digital camera. The Intermediate course is for those who have done the
Beginners' course or have some experience of image capture. It introduces
more advanced scanning and image optimisation techniques as well as monitor
calibration.
IMAGE MANAGEMENT - Storing and Finding Your digital Images - Thursday 27th
November
An introduction to choosing and using Image Management Systems (IMS), with
a range of practical exercises to illustrate the underlying concepts.
Topics covered include: an overview of databases and how they work;
choosing the right IMS for your needs; integrating a metadata framework
within an IMS; digital preservation and data migration.

3rd December - Digital Rights Management - Practical Approaches to Securing
and Protecting Copyright (repeated due to popular demand). NOTE: this
workshop is now full, but we have a waiting list. If there is sufficient
interest we will repeat this workshop soon.
4th December - Colour Management for Digitisation Projects (repeated due to
popular demand)
11th December - Putting your Images Online - A Guide for Lecturers (NEW)
