Hi Mary

For those of you who don't already know, JMU are currently working
jointly with RNIB Cymru on the attached project. This project funded by
the National Assembly for Wales. The new build guidelines will be
launched in November and the adaptations will be launched early next
year. For further info contact Linda Rees - contact details attached.

Mary - may be worth giving Linda a ring anyway because she may have come
across guidance on wheelchair user adaptations in her research? (Not in
office today though)

Regards
Caroline

Hi Mary

If you want Lifetime Homes standards then they are set out on the
Habinteg
web site at http://www.habinteg.org.uk/lifetimehomes/ they also detail
their
own design guidance. Wheelchair design guidance is harder to find on the
web. The BRE bookshops sell Thorpe, S. (1997). Wheelchair Housing Design
Guide. London: BRE Bookshop for £26.40 tel 020 7505 6622.

Accesscode has the lifetime homes recommendations but not as neatly done
as
Habinteg.

Anyone come across other good guides?

Regards
marcus
