Mark,
As a blind Access Officer I require most of my material in accessible
formats. PDF is one of those formats and Adobe have thankfully provided
'plug-in' modules to assist vision impaired people access these files with
screen readers. I have the 1999 Part M in PDF and, with Acrobat 4.5 and the
associated 'plug-in', I can export the PDF to text or html format. The text
format, however, will not provide the illustrations, but the text usually
comes out reasonably well. Not sure about the html format as I have not
tried it. Let me know if you want me to export this to text or html for
you.
Regards, John.

Subject: Part M
Dear All,
I need an electronic copy of the current Part M. On the
government sites
the PDF files are images so you cannot cut and paste which I
need to do.
I've found the consultation document which gives sections
1-5, but I need
the section 6-10 etc for private dwellings. I do need the
correct and
current version, no abbreviations as I'm an Access Officer
for Cambridge
City Council and use passages as quotes to inform people of
the law. Can
anyone help?
Mark Taylor
