Yes it was. I've been through the procedure described in the storehelp
page and it all seems to have worked (except that I had to do
% chmod a+x star_build
to get the "star_build starjava" command to work).
I'm not sure that many astronomers with a casual interest in splat would
have persevered through this though. Given the popularity of linux, the
basic store form should at least have a large warning about this problem.
