Hope I don't sound like I'm repeating myself but if you change them to a
single .F file and use the C preprocessor with -D${SYSTEM} this will make
things much simpler when it comes to the platform-dependent source code.
Given that we would only be using CPP for #ifdef then I think that is safe
and will (hopefully) overcome Mark's reservations on using CPP for Fortran
code (since we will not be doing token replacement just branch decisions).
This is what I use CPP for in SURF and SPECX.
