Hi Steve,
well we did get into this habit for good reasons, so I'd say we should
have a better reason than chance to stop doing it.
The shareable library itself isn't new. It just lived elsewhere in
previous versions:
/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-redhat-linux/<version.number>
No idea why they moved it.
