I think that SkySoft is useful as a concept but is at least 5 years too
late. :-)
Saying that, I would be in favour of maintaining a presence in skysoft and
correcting errors, but not spending a lot of time on it. Pulling out seems
to be a bit extreme. [they've just registered orac-dr using a completely
random email address - I do think they need to be told to ask first,
since that is more polite]
On a related note, just having looked at the FITS home page
(http://heasarc.gsfc.nasa.gov/docs/heasarc/fits.html) I'm shocked that AST
and GAIA are not listed on that page.
