It's mostly gone - it's just that if you simple-mindedly follow some of our
own documentation about testing or demo-ing some of the apps then you find
there is still /star hard-coded in. Some of these demos have not changed for
5+ years. We can correct it but it will take time.
We may be able to simply say that without /star then some of the demos will
not work - but I'm not 100% sure that that is all that will break.

We put a lot of effort in a few years ago in trying to ensure that the
Starlink software was not dependent on /star (most of the data files are
located by searching relative to $PATH). It's a pity it has returned!
