In the hope that the CD itself will be finalised soon, Dave and I would
like to get working on the publicity material.
As yet I've not received any pictures or text for the Bulletin 23 and
posters showing off the new applications and features. The posters will
largely be improved or updated versions of the ones we used at NAM. The
highlights must surely be TOPCAT, and new features of SPLAT including
AST axes. Do we have sufficient material for a small AUTOASTROM, or we
leaving the publicity for that until it's in GAIA? Pictures which show
the units and SpecFrame handling in KAPPA would be useful. Any other
suggestions for important new functionality we should feature...bootable
CD, web access to CVS for quick updates?
For ORAC-DR I could do with a selection of interesting reduced UIST data
including spectral and imaging. I do have one IFU picture. I have one
INGRID picture, and a selection of ISAAC imaging. I'll try to generate
some spectral or polarimetry too.
In the Bulletin, should we say anything about Starlink and Virtual
Observatories, data models, if only to show to the users we are still
involved in important international projects? If so, we'll need some
illustrations. In the TOPCAT table we might need to explain VOTable.
Thanks for your help,
Malcolm
