Hi Malcolm,
OK, if you really want I'll volunteer, it'll make a change from Java
programming. I have a pool of code around to plunder for this kind of
manipulation (GAIA). The only slightly tricky part is if the files are
written from Fortran as the records may have some additional structuring
which is compiler dependent.
