http://www.slainte.org.uk/Eventsca/0311/03110500.htm
The annual Information for Scotland Conference celebrates its tenth
anniversary this year. Over the last ten years this has established itself
as one of the major events in the Scottish library and information calendar
and has attracted both major speakers and audiences from across the LIS
sectors.
Information for Scotland 10 will be held on Wednesday 5th November 2003 in
the Wolfson Suite of Edinburgh University Library. The cost has been reduced
to £45 (plus VAT) per delegate, including full catering.
Once again a range of issues will be addressed by our speakers, including a
plenary address by Rhona Brankin MSP, Chair of SLIC (to be confirmed),
Deborah Woodyard from the British Library on digital preservation, and a
demonstration and explanation of the Scottish Cultural portal.
Workshops before and after lunch to allow delegates to attend two out of the
three offered will cover the Scottish distributed digital library, CoSMIC
and the Scottish collaborative infrastructure, and a strategy for Scottish
materials. There will be the usual poster display and demonstrations over
lunchtime.
A review talk by Derek Law will lead into a short birthday party - complete
with cake and sparkling wine - to complete a notable milestone of ten
successful conferences.
Further details will be posted as they are available or may be sought from
the Chairman of the Organising Committee, Stuart James
[log in to unmask] Bookings may be made through the SLIC/CILIPS
