Interesting posts on this today.
I have been told by several different people about the method described by
Dick B. I haven't tried it myself properly but will.
I read the link about the German experiment again last night, and I
certainly stick to my point that it's just a case of "the right experiment
not having been designed yet". I don't think it can be accepted or
dismissed by such contrived experimental procedures or the application of
detailed mathematical statistical modelling. A far better bet would have
been to have taken one master dowser, transport him all over the place,
onto randomly-selected unfamiliar ground, do traverses and mark off
anomalies found, then excavate or even drill these to see if anything real
was bang under the spot.
Mind you (and I mean no offence to anybody's personal convictions) there
are billions of people worldwide, many scientists among them, who worship
and believe in one god or another...proof or not...
...maybe dowsing is something that will thus remain within the personal
domain for the forseeable!
