In the coat of arms for the district of Amberg-Sulzbach in Bavaria, Germany, a set of mining tools
is depicted.
See http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amberg-Sulzbach
In the UK we are all probably aware of the 'Free miners logo', but I am not sure that it is actually
incorporated in a coat of arms. The original of this is, I believe, the brass in Newland Church
See http://theforestreunited.co.uk/forest4/localhistory.htm
Of course the freeminers logo has been used in various other guises for example the freeminer
brewery and Clearwell Caves.
See http://website.lineone.net/~freeminer.brewery/ and http://www.clearwellcaves.com/
But I am wondering about historic uses in coats of arms. How many other instances of mining
connections are there in coats of arms?
