GIS Support Analyst – ESRI (UK) Ltd, Aylesbury.
ESRI (UK), distributors of the world’s leading Geographical Information
Systems products, has a vacancy for a high calibre GIS professional to join
our technical support team. ESRI (UK) provides GIS solutions to a wide
variety of UK clients involved in public and commercial activities;
including local and central government, commercial business, defence,
telecomm, and environmental management.
The ESRI (UK) Support Team provides industry leading technical services to
customers who expect high quality advice and support. Your role would be
to deal effectively with a wide variety of users’ technical issues centred
on the use of ArcGIS, ArcIMS, ArcSDE and other ESRI products.
You will be required to offer;
GIS or Computer Science degree or post graduate qualification related to
GIS.
At least 1 – 2 years (post academic) GIS experience.
Knowledge of;
ArcGIS, ArcInfo, ArcView, ArcIMS or equivalent products.
Programming with Visual Basic, JAVA, Visual C++ or an equivalent language.
Knowledge of Windows NT / 2000 / XP is required, additionally, UNIX skills
are desirable.
Knowledge of web / Internet technologies are highly desirable.
Familiarity with HTML, XML, ASP, Javascript is highly desirable.
Oracle or SQLServer skills are highly desirable
You will be working directly with end users by phone or email to offer
advice or to diagnose and resolve problems.
Good communication and problem solving skills are essential.
The ability to work proactively and independently is necessary, as well the
ability to interact with other members of the support team, ESRI (UK)
consultants and sales personnel.
This would be an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced
GIS user or developer to apply their knowledge in a challenging customer
support role where a fast and flexible approach is demanded. The support
analyst’s role may also incorporate the potential to work at customers’
offices for short to medium term periods or time.
