The safest bet on Linux is probably MPICH. Most network specific versions
(e.g. Myrinet) are based on it (but may differ in behaviour). LAM is also
used, but less so.
Sun SMPs come with their own HPC libraries (don't remember how it's called),
including MPI. It's not cheap, so people are sing MPICH as well.
Windows? Get yourself an operating system! :-)
