A colleague and I have tried unsuccessfully to actually get through to anyone on
the student support direct line. The HEI line of the SLC on the other hand is
very accessible. Does the student support direct (or any link into the pilot
scheme LEAs) have an HEI number please? If not, I cannot see that the pilot
scheme will be more efficient if it's so difficult to get through!
Also, I have heard reported that no information will be given to a Student
Adviser unless the student is physically with the Adviser. The SLC are much
more helpful in this respect. It's just not possible to keep a student waiting
while you keep trying at odd intervals to get through to student support direct
so is there a way around this?
