Scientists from Affymetrix yesterday announced that they have launched a
single genechip - the size of a thumbnail - containing the transcribed
human genome (50,000 probes, being 33,000 genes and various splice
variants).
The release is quite commercial - see link below for online press kit - but
it is a milestone in the genome story.
