Hello all!
As someone who recently got a job where the description was divided in to
essential and desirable criteria, I can safely say that even essential
criteria are not always set in stone!
As for getting on the short list - if in doubt, make a phone call. When
applying for a job you have nothing to lose by calling the person whose name
is on the ad, and if it isn't worth you applying, they should (hopefully)
tell you there and then.
