AHA! Found out! If you were in the States now, the record companies
would be lining up at your door to serve you with lawsuits. You could
get in line behind the 12-year-old Catholic school girls, the retired
grannies who like Vaughn Monroe records, the bodypierced kids who listen
to songs about committing bestiality with a dog [not a joke, I overheard
one on Sunday via the overly loud stereo in a parked car].
I shudden to think of your sentence: a lifetime condemned to listen to
the Starland Vocal Band singing "Afternoon Delight." On days off, for
good behavior, you would be allowed to listen to Wayne Newton singing
"Daddy, don't you walk so fast."
I prefer Kazaa. Not that I ever downloaded music, Heavens forfend!--but
somehow a huge collection of Jacques Brel songs found their way to my
computer. Maybe it was Alison's elves. Hmmmm.
