noticed by the rest of the world, to judge by coverage which talks of
the UK as Bush's "only ally": except the Iraqi foreign minister, who
has had a good laugh.
I don't think anything bar a miracle is going to stop Bush & Son Ltd
starting a war that will kill 30,000 Iraqi citizens and displace half
a million (UN estimates) in a few weeks' time. (Those same citizens
under that evil regime are of course the ones locked up in desert
prisons here.) It would of course be nice to be wrong.
Silence does not mean consent, and is often by default claimed to be
consent. Let's not allow that to happen, at least.
And thanks, too, Kent for Weinberger's post. I suspect that the new
politics he is talking about among the young include issues like
environmentalism and gender.
