I was out and about that night, Douglas, and saw nary a boat on a
freeway - it was in other parts of the town. So like you I read
about it in the papers! There had been storm warnings, so I was a
little disappointed - I like storms. Within reason, of course. I
used to live opposite a river and one of my favourite things was to
watch the rain sweeping in across it, a heavy grey curtain which hit
the roof like a wave crashing, so beautiful. It's not cold rain, and
it's very heavy (although not usually this heavy).
