WILLIAM CLAXTON’s “Photographic Memory”
When
I first
looked—
like a very pale prize fighter.
I went to the darkroom
and Chet Baker’s face came right out towards
me.
Camera, so they can be free enough to improvise
life—
all uphill, all the time.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
This is the best side: you do this, you look wonderful.
Out to get them—
not the ugly side.
