Peter,
I use Linguistics Abstracts quite frequently, as a way of finding references to
papers, both papers I know a partial reference to and papers in subject areas
that interest me. I don't use the abtracts themselves much, unless the author
is completely unknown to me. I wonder if a little of the complaint below arises
from sour grapes about Blackwell's success in publishing what Cambridge thought
was their subject. I've found Blackwell's in fact to be a much better publisher
to deal with.
