There are probably quite a few studies on the topic, but I have not had
much time to explore the issue. However I have picked up a few references
that may be useful.
As for the comment made by Céline Lemay, it is interesting to see that
their breastfeeding rate is high, but it is important to consider whether
(1) it is similar to that of other maternity services centres (which I
doubt, but I don't know for sure) and (2) to remember that women who choose
to deliver in birth centres or deliver at home are probably intrinsically
different from those who deliver in a hospital setting.
